Factory Registration and Licensing/ Renewal

Overview:

An entrepreneur, intending to occupy a factory, whether in existence at the date of the commencement of the Factories Act, 1948 or coming for the first time within the scope of the Act, is required to obtain Licence through registration of his factory from the Chief Inspector of Factories, Assam at least 15 (fifteen) days before the occupation or use any premises as a factory for the purpose of the said Act.

Factory Plan Approval

Overview:

An entrepreneur, intending to set-up a factory involving any manufacturing process as defined under section 2(k) of the Factories Act, 1948; other than manufacturing process defined under section 2 (cb) of the said Act, is required to obtain previous permission of the State Government or the Chief Inspector of Factories in writing for the site on which the factory is to be situated and for construction of factory building, installation of machinery, prime movers and/ or connection of electrical power for the purpose of the said Act.

Renewal of Certificate of Boiler/Economizer under The Indian Boiler Act, 1923 and IBR,1950 (Form II)

Who should apply?

When a certificate ceases to be in force or expiry of the period, the owner of the boiler may apply to the Competent Person for renewal thereof for such period as may be prescribed by regulations.

Documents Required:

A copy of Previous fitness certificate

Timeline:

30 working days from the date of receipt of application, completed in all respect along with documents as per checklist. 

Fees and Payments:

Renewal of Approval as Boiler Erector / Repairer and Steam / Feed Water Pipe Line Fabricator / Erector

Who should apply?

Any firm who is recognised as Repairer under Boiler Regulations and wants to renew the approval shall apply for the same.

Documents Required:

1. Detailed list of Manpower, equipments and machinery of the firm
2. Details of the past experience of the firm

Timeline:

30 days from the date of receipt of application.

Fees and Payments:

Registration of Steam / Feed / Blow Down Line under IBR, 1950

Who should apply?

The owner of Boiler intends to install Steam Pipe shall apply to the Inspector to have the boiler registered.

Documents Required:

1. Layout drawing of Steam/Feed/blow down line in triplicates, showing position of pipe fittings.
2. Details of materials dimension and specifications of pipes and pipe fittings
3. Welding details of joints.

Timeline:

Registration and Certification of Package Boiler/ Economizer under the Boilers Act, 1923 and IBR, 1950 - Form I

Who should apply?

The owner of Package Boiler which is not registered under the provisions of this Act shall apply to the Inspector to have the boiler registered.

Documents Required:

•    Form-II issued by the inspecting authority.
•    Form-III issued by the inspecting authority.
•    Form-IV A for all materials used for the Boiler.
•    Form-III C for all valves, mountings and fittings.
•    IBR approved details drawing of boiler.
