The Assam Flying Club Ltd. in short “Assam Flying Club” was established in 1958 at Shillong, capital of Assam that time . It was registered  under the Co-operative Society’s Act of Assam, 1949 and was given a registration no R-1 57/58 of 1958 at Shillong.

The Assam Flying Club Ltd. had been functional and operational in full swing till the end of December 2003. It produced as many as 150 Private Pilots License ( PPL) and 32 Commercial Pilots License (CPL) holders in it’s glorious history. The prestigious Assam Flying Club Ltd was under the Department of Education till the year 1978 and after that it came under the command of Department of Sports and Youth Welfare.

The Organization has it’s own property and full establishment located at L.G.B.I Airport, Borjhar such as Hanger, Office, Aircrafts (one CESSNA 152-A and one PUSPAK MK-1) at the Hanger, Land at Borjhar, Staff quarters ,Equipments etc.

The Vision of Assam Flying Club Ltd. is the development of the State through it’s service in the sector of Flying Training and to produce highly qualified and skilled Commercial Pilots License (CPL) holders from the North East for the service of the Nation and to the Globe. To bridge the existing gap between demand and supply of skilled manpower in Aviation. To operate in the NOCP (Non-scheduled Flights Operation) module in the sector of Cargo, Medical, Hospitality, Tourism, Commerce and Trades etc. for the purpose of earning revenue and employment generation in the State.

The Mission of Assam Flying Club Ltd. is to formulate a demand estimates to  produce skill  Pilots leading to certification of professional CPL Licenses to fresh trainees from D.G.C.A, New Delhi and to retaining the existing workforce for effective utilization in the aerospace and aviation industry. To make Guwahati as future Aviation hub and gateway to many other neighbouring country such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam etc. To create job prospects to encounter future boom in the airliner industry ,which is the safest mode of transportation of all time.
Future Prospects:

Although the Assam Flying Club Ltd. is presently facing some legal hassle for it’s existence but time is not too far when the prestigious organization will be back to it’s esteem operational state as per its own history  and train the upcoming young Pilots from the State and North East under the Sports and Youth Welfare Dept. and to make these professional Commercial Pilots ready to serve the Nation.
